YouTube was founded in 2005 by three former PayPal employees - Chad Hurley, Steve Chen, & Jawed Karim - and was bought by Google in 2006 for $1.65 billion. In 2007, YouTube launched its first video-sharing service, allowing users to upload videos up to 10 minutes long. By the end of the year, the site had over 65,000 videos.
